It all starts here!

and goes on because of grace.

I almost got this all wrong! In an attempt to get started and help us live our whole lives for Jesus, I almost started with what we could do. Until I remembered that before anything, and I mean anything, the Christian life is all about what God has already done! That has to come first, before any commands or tips! The best way to start then has to be with Jesus! The one for whom we were made, the one who always lived his whole life for the Father and displayed grace in all its fullness. So listen to these words:

‘The Son (Jesus) is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.’
Colossians 1:15-20

In short to have any hope of living for God, we have to start with what he has done. It is impossible to earn our way into his family, we can’t earn his affection. We can however glory in his great love through Jesus. A love which made the Father send his one and only Son. A love which led the Son to give up his glory in order to be put to shame, mocked and killed.

If you want your life to be significant and purposeful in this shallow and throw away world, then come to Jesus.

Ultimately I wrote this blog to help myself focus on God’s grace, and the power of the gospel to transform and move me to try and live every part of my life for the one to whom it belongs. Join me in failing and yet longing to live every second, hour, day and year for Jesus. Grace is where it starts, but it doesn’t end there, as the good news is that Jesus defeated death and sin (the thing that separates us from God), proved by his resurrection and ascension. Jesus finished his saving work, but today sends his Spirit to empower us to live his risen life each day.

I hope you this site will encourage you to live in the light of God’s grace in your work, rest and play for the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. May God alone be our ultimate joy and desire!

I hope you will join me?
